want list
Just a fun glimpse into my current want list:
- cashmere J.Crew boyfriend cardigan (monogram welcomed)
- David Yurman bling- you really can't go wrong with anything DY.
- Jonathan Adler horoscope pillow- I'm big into horoscopes- this pillow would make a great accent piece.
- Sam Edelman leather boots- I live in tall boots in the fall/winter and I'm a huge fan of Sam Edelman flats!
- Naked Chardonnay from Brys Estate- my favorite!
- Friends DVD set- even though I've seen all the episodes twice over, there's something comforting about watching your favorite show whenever you want!

weekend forecast
The weekend has finally arrived!...Did anyone else feel like this week dragggggeeeddd on? It was probably harder to bear because I've been fighting an annoying cold, but no complaints here it's time to relax!
The only concrete plans I have for this weekend is the a day Tigers game on sunday with the boyfriend :) The weather is supposed to cool down (a nice break from the unexpected humidity) and I haven't been to a game all season so it has all the makings for a sunday-funday!
Whatever your plans are make it a good one!

red hot
It seems that the hot hue of the season is a spicy orange red. I'm not usually drawn to wearing this color myself, but I'm definitely open to the idea of sporting accessories in this color. In my recent trip to Italy my mom treated me to a fabulous Italian leather bag in a rustic orangey red. I can't wait show it off once the weather cools down a bit!
I think the best way to wear this fiery color is to keep all other aspects of your outfit on the simpler side-subtle makeup and neutral shoes would best accompany this color.
This fall I'm hoping to step outside my comfort zone and embrace the trend!

hail the kale
It's not breaking news that kale is reigning supreme in the veggie world...who knew a leafy green could be so trendy?! Personally I love adding the raw veggie to salads, but my favorite way to prepare kale is baked with a little olive oil, sea salt and parmesan. Simple, delicious and addicting!
Packed with vitamins, antioxidants and flavonoids- kale is one of the most healthy foods for you.
Here's a link to my healthy eats board on Pinterest with some great healthy recipes- pin away!

bellissima
This past summer my family and I were fortunate to take a trip of a lifetime- a Mediterranean cruise! My grandpa was generous enough to invite the entire family on my dad's side to join in on the fun. The trip was a journey that I will forever treasure, memories and experiences that can't simply be summed up in a blog post. My grandpa was originally planning on taking this cruise last summer, but a few days into the trip his brother sadly passed away; so as fate would have it he had to postpone the cruise. After a series of a few other unfortunate events my grandpa decided that this cruise had all the potential for an epic family vacation! Surprisingly enough all 35 of us were able to rearrange our lives and take advantage of an insane opportunity!
Our trip began in Venice, complete with a welcoming gondola ride- from there we went to Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Valletta, Taormina, Naples, and lastly Capri. Each destination brought new tastes, breathtaking views and some new experiences (segway tours galore!). While picking a favorite spot is just too hard I have to say that Taormina, Sicily stole my heart. My dad's family is from Sicily so it was kind of a special place to visit with everyone.
Life is short and sweet and while it's not always easy to remember (I'm continuously trying to work on this myself), it's important to really enjoy an experience and live in the actual moment.
More posts on this trip are sure to come!..stay tuned!

never forget.
Today weighs heavy on all of our hearts as we remember and honor those who have fallen victims of the malicious terrorist attacks twelve years ago today. Confused, overwhelmed and ultimately stunned I remember learning about the 911 attacks as I was coming from 6th grade choir. It's funny how certain memories can remain so vivid.
While today marks a horrific even in history it is also a testament to how resiliant and solidified Americans are through their passion and love for their country. It's days like this that I am truly grateful for all that I have been blessed with.
My heart goes out to the victims, heroes and survivors of 911. <3

falling for fall
I still get that exciting "back to school" feeling every time fall rolls around (total dork, I'm aware). The essence of fall to me is so nostalgic- it means new experiences, old traditions, and let's be honest a new wardrobe! Chunky sweaters, riding boots and leather accessories are so delicious! And while I'm long past the days of school supply shopping it's always fun to stock up on new school office goodies, fill the planner with fun plans and make new personal goals. It must be the crisp air, the back to the 'ole routine concept and wardrobe shift that really gets me geeked out over my favorite season. Can't wait to see what this season has to bring!

birthday celebrations
A very happy (yet belated) birthday shout-out to my mom! We celebrated the special 5-0 this weekend and had a blast doing so! Friday night we indulged at Capital Grille- complete with creme brulee, chocolate espresso cake and awesome vino. Saturday brought more fun with family and friends and of course Pink Elephant cupcakes! It was definitely a birthday that will be remembered! xoxo
