Happy Friday! My weekend plans are still up in the air, but that's alright! I start my new job Monday, so a relaxing, "plan free" weekend might be just what I need :).  Wishing you a happy weekend with good company!

Fall Weekend Wardrobe

Fall Weekend Wardrobe

Seriously lusting after the quilted J.Crew vest! I think it's really versatile and can even be worn to the office! I might have to pick up a color from OPI's new James Bond line to channel the inner 007 in me and since Coach is making a much noticed comeback with the classics I have a feeling I will be digging through my mom's old purse collection.  AND for the first year ever I've been wearing my white jeans after labor day...rebel status.

P.S. how cute are the Tory Burch flats?! Fun for fall!

day trip to Lazurn!
my gorgeous gift from the bf and travel buddy
Like I mentioned in my last post, I had busy end to my summer and was fortunate to do some traveling. My grandpa has retired in Switzerland and for my graduation gift I was lucky enough to visit him. My boyfriend came too and we had such an amazing time visiting the different towns/regions of Switzerland. We even saw Madonna in concert and took a trip to Salzburg, Austria for a night. Since my grandpa lives there year round we couldn't have asked for a better "tour guide"...he had an itinerary for us and made sure we saw all the must sees and local favorites. Zurich's landscape is absolutely breathtaking! There's a picturesque shot no matter where you look- mountains, water and greenery!   I  think it's safe to say I fell in love with Zurich and can't wait to go back one day! Expect to see more Zurich posts in the future!

Time Away.

Here is my first post since being away from the blogging world for a couple months! Summer traveling and starting a new job had me tied up. While it was nice to take a little break, I've missed posting! Hopefully since fall is well underway things will start to get less chaotic and I'll find time to carve out for blogging.

Fall happens to be my favorite season so this first post back is appropriately fall themed. I love the idea of a 'fresh start' maybe that's why starting a new school year was always so appealing..all the possibilities that can happen in a year! Not to mention...pumpkin spice lattes, honey crisps, riding boots, glittering pumpkins, new school supplies...Halloween and my birthday! Ahhhhh love it all! It's a weird feeling not being back at school this fall for the first time, but it's been a different kind of fun having more time to visit different apple orchids, bake fall goodies and help my mom decorate for the season.

Here's a few of my favorite fall things!

quotable.

You don’t have to get a job that makes others feel comfortable about what they perceive as your success. You don’t have to explain what you plan to do with your life. You don’t have to justify your education by demonstrating its financial rewards. You don’t have to maintain an impeccable credit score. Anyone who expects you to do any of those things has no sense of history or economics or science or the arts. You have to pay your own electric bill. You have to be kind. You have to give it all you got. You have to find people who love you truly and love them back with the same truth. But that’s all.

Whenever I'm traveling or even driving around my own neighborhood I love scoping out other people's homes and taking note on their beautiful exteriors. Here's just a few I stumbled on through Pinterest. Hydrangeas, a big porch, a lot of windows, and topiaries are all a must-have requirement for my imaginary/future home!

Channeling the Olympics

Channeling the Olympics

I have been meaning to make a post in spirit of the Olympics. Gold, red, white & blue and a competitive edge are all you need. The swimming competitions have always been one of my favorites and last night was especially exciting to watch as Phelps earned his 19th medal! INSANE. Can't wait to tune in for the last of his Olympic races ever.
P.S. How did you feel about our opening ceremony outfits? I hate to jump on the bashing bandwagon, but I wasn't feeling the beret!

Loving Lilac.

Lilac

I've never considered myself a purple person, but lately I've been loving lilac. It's surprisingly a versatile hue- fun for summer, but I can see myself wearing the shade through fall. My favorite way to sport the hue is painting my nails the pretty color or wearing my David Yurman amethyst ring! How do you wear lilac?
