My ideal home will definitely incorporate blue and white. The above photos are perfectly ideal in my book. Blue and white offers such a clean, simple and timeless aesthetic to a room. The last two pictures are taken from my room (obviously paying homage to my blue and white and Greek key obsession). Browse my Pinterest board for more inspiration.

I'm excited for the upcoming week! I know how cliche it sounds, but I can't believe the holidays are already here. I have a lot to be grateful and thankful for; good health, friends and a loving family are always a good thing! Any fun, festive plans in the works? I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner with my boyfriend's family and an always entertaining charity event- The Gobble Wobble! Cheers!

happy hump day

Here are some lovely images for your Wednesday. Have any fun plans set for tonight? I love making plans early in the week so I have things to look forward to. Whatever it is- happy hour with friends, catching up on your favorite shows or getting your nails done- making plans really helps break up the monotony of the week!...Now I'm off to go score a salted chocolate donut. Have a good one!

dainty rings

My love for jewelry should come as no surprise, but my most recent love for dainty jewelry (gold in particular) is my newest infatuation. It started with the Ariel Gordon love knot ring that I prefer to wear on my pinky.  I finally gave in after keeping my eye on it for quite some time and it hasn't left my finger since.
This past weekend in Traverse City I mentioned I did some sightseeing...(shopping obviously included) and stopped in a local jewelry store downtown. I came across a brand that I had never heard of, but I have to say I'm a fan! Lafonn- it's affordable, durable and beautifully designed. I picked up a couple thin band rings that are just what I've been looking for to add to my collection.
The best part of buying jewelry on vacation is it makes such a great momentum (I can totally justify any shopping purchase)!
Are you a fan of dainty jewelry or do you go the "bigger is better" route? It's too hard for me to choose, but this dainty trend is something I can definitely get behind.

This past weekend was seriously perfect...one of those weekends that you're sad it had to end, but so grateful it happened. It had all the ingredients for a quintessential fall weekend- crimson leaves, crisp brisk air and of course good company.  My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Traverse City, visiting all our favorite wineries and enjoying each others company. We indulged in delicious food (Red Ginger and Sorrelina yum and YUM!), treated ourselves to  equally delicious wine and took in the beautiful northern Michigan views. While we've been to TC before, this was our first time visiting in the fall- it was definitely memorable and just as gorgeous as everyone claimed it to be. Can't wait to plan our next trip up there!

what a scandal

Scandal is finally back! Can't wait to pour myself a glass of wine and make some popcorn- Kerri Washington style! Kerri's style never fails to impress me- I have serious closet envy!
Are you on the Scandal bandwagon too?

one way ticket.

It's Thursday...we're almost there folks! I've been a Pinterest addict lately. Do you ever get into those moods where you just can't. stop. pinning?...(sounds ridiculous). Pinterest is obviously so visually appealing, but it's kind of more than that- it's creatively stimulating. Pinterest is my own little way to unwind, get some creative insight and do a little day dreaming.
While I was pinning daydreaming this evening I came across this beyond GORGEOUS, utterly breathtaking, seriously to die for (get the picture?) hotel in Capri, Italy.
I visited Capri when I studied abroad a few years ago and was blessed enough to go again this past summer and it truly is as beautiful as pictures lend it to be!
Tell me you wouldn't love to stay in J.K. Penthouse?! Not to mention the decor is dead on to how I want to style my future home- blue and white with some fabulous flair.
Booking now ;)

Choco-holic

Kicking off my favorite month I wanted to write a little ode to my eternal love...chocolate. While I don't discriminate I have to say dark is my preferred flavor. With it's antioxidant benefits, whats not to love?! Needless to say getting my daily dose is never an issue. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays- I can't wait to incorporate my sweet of choice into some fun treats! Here are some of my favorites:

want list

want list

Just a fun glimpse into my current want list:

  • cashmere J.Crew boyfriend cardigan (monogram welcomed)
  • David Yurman bling- you really can't go wrong with anything DY.
  • Jonathan Adler horoscope pillow- I'm big into horoscopes- this pillow would make a great accent piece.
  • Sam Edelman leather boots- I live in tall boots in the fall/winter and I'm a huge fan of Sam Edelman flats!
  • Naked Chardonnay from Brys Estate- my favorite!
  • Friends DVD set- even though I've seen all the episodes twice over, there's something comforting about watching your favorite show whenever you want!

movie-thon

movie night

As we gear up for fall who doesn't love a cozy night in for a movie-thon? Here are some of my picks on a comfy outfit, some classic flicks and a yummy snack (mandatory you try the goobers + popcorn combo- sounds strange, but so good, just pour the goobers into your popcorn bowl & enjoy!).

weekend forecast

The weekend has finally arrived!...Did anyone else feel like this week dragggggeeeddd on? It was probably harder to bear because I've been fighting an annoying cold, but no complaints here it's time to relax!
The only concrete plans I have for this weekend is the a day Tigers game on sunday with the boyfriend :) The weather is supposed to cool down (a nice break from the unexpected humidity) and I haven't been to a game all season so it has all the makings for a sunday-funday!
Whatever your plans are make it a good one!

red hot

It seems that the hot hue of the season is a spicy orange red. I'm not usually drawn to wearing this color myself, but I'm definitely open to the idea of sporting accessories in this color. In my recent trip to Italy my mom treated me to a fabulous Italian leather bag in a rustic orangey red. I can't wait show it off once the weather cools down a bit!
I think the best way to wear this fiery color is to keep all other aspects of your outfit on the simpler side-subtle makeup and neutral shoes would best accompany this color.
This fall I'm hoping to step outside my comfort zone and embrace the trend!

wedding woes

These inspirational wedding pins have me swooning. The lace details in the dress below are simply gorgeous and I have always been drawn to blue and white accents. The gumdrop sparkler would have any girl saying "i do!"
Happy wednesday friends!

hail the kale

It's not breaking news that kale is reigning supreme in the veggie world...who knew a leafy green could be so trendy?! Personally I love adding the raw veggie to salads, but my favorite way to prepare kale is baked with a little olive oil, sea salt and parmesan. Simple, delicious and addicting!
Packed with vitamins, antioxidants and flavonoids- kale is one of the most healthy foods for you.
Here's a link to my healthy eats board on Pinterest with some great healthy recipes- pin away

bellissima

This past summer my family and I were fortunate to take a trip of a lifetime-  a Mediterranean cruise! My grandpa was generous enough to invite the entire family on my dad's side to join in on the fun. The trip was a journey that I will  forever treasure, memories and experiences that can't simply be summed up in a blog post. My grandpa was originally planning on taking this cruise last summer, but a few days into the trip his brother sadly passed away; so as fate would have it he had to postpone the cruise. After a series of a few other unfortunate events my grandpa decided that this cruise had all the potential for an epic family vacation! Surprisingly enough all 35 of us were able to rearrange our lives and take advantage of an insane opportunity!
Our trip began in Venice, complete with a welcoming gondola ride- from there we went to Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Valletta, Taormina, Naples, and lastly Capri. Each destination brought new tastes, breathtaking views and some new experiences (segway tours galore!). While picking a favorite spot is just too hard I have to say that Taormina, Sicily stole my heart. My dad's family is from Sicily so it was kind of a special place to visit with everyone.
Life is short and sweet and while it's not always easy to remember (I'm continuously trying to work on this myself), it's important to really enjoy an experience and live in the actual moment.
More posts on this trip are sure to come!..stay tuned!

andiamo!
